RexShield 1090 Metal Gelcoat is a two-component, hybrid silicon-ceramic coating engineered to deliver advanced corrosion protection for metal substrates in demanding environments. Designed to bond at the molecular level, it provides long-lasting protection against oxidation, chemical exposure, microbial growth, and UV degradation.

Formulated for both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, RexShield 1090 can be applied to painted or non-painted surfaces, including new, aged, or previously oxidized metal. Its advanced formulation reduces surface friction, enhancing durability while helping protect against environmental wear, particularly in high-exposure conditions such as coastal and industrial settings.

RexShield 1090 is ideal for use on industrial equipment, marine environments, outdoor kitchens, generators, structural metal, and other surfaces exposed to salt air, moisture, and UV stress. This system is designed for specialty applications where long-term protection and performance are critical.

Once mixed, the product offers an extended working pot life of up to 30 days. Proper environmental conditions, including adequate humidity, are required to achieve full cure.

Application Overview

1. Surface Preparation
Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free of oils, contaminants, loose oxidation, or debris. Proper preparation is critical to achieving optimal bonding and performance.

2. Mixing
Combine both components according to product instructions and mix thoroughly until a uniform solution is achieved. Once mixed, the product has a working pot life of up to 30 days.

3. Application
Apply evenly using an appropriate applicator, pad, or spray system depending on the surface and environment. Work in manageable sections to ensure consistent coverage.

4. Leveling & Coverage
Ensure uniform distribution across the surface to avoid streaking or uneven finish. Do not allow excess material to pool.

5. Dry Time
Allow the surface to dry before exposure to use or environmental conditions.

6. Cure Conditions
Proper humidity levels (approximately 30% or greater) are required to achieve full cure and optimal performance.

7. Inspection
Inspect the surface for uniform appearance, coverage, and protection across the substrate.
